Atlanta Israel Coalition Launches Urgent Relief Mission Amid Devastating War in Israel
ATLANTA, GA — June 30, 2025 — In response to Israel’s escalating humanitarian crisis resulting from the recent Iran-Israel conflict, the Atlanta Israel Coalition (AIC) is launching Hearts United, Boots on the Ground, an urgent 11-day relief mission. Beginning July 14, AIC’s dedicated volunteer team will deliver life-saving aid directly to impacted communities across Israel, providing shelter, rebuilding schools, supporting IDF personnel, and restoring hope amidst the devastation.
The conflict erupted on June 13, when Israel, facing an existential threat reminiscent of the historic Six-Day War, executed Operation Rising Lion—a preemptive strike against Iran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure. Iran, known as the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, retaliated fiercely, unleashing over 550 ballistic missiles and drone strikes, devastating cities throughout Israel. The attacks have led to widespread destruction, overwhelming hospitals, displacing thousands, and reducing communities to rubble.
“Israel is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis,” said Cheryl Dorchinsky, Founder & Executive Director of AIC. “While many understandably flee or seek shelter, AIC’s volunteers are stepping into harm’s way to deliver critical aid. We’re determined to help rebuild lives and communities. Every moment counts, and every dollar makes a difference.”
The mission, titled Hearts United, Boots on the Ground, is AIC’s commitment to active, hands-on relief in practice. Volunteers will deliver essential supplies to families, help restore damaged classrooms so children can return to education, provide critical aid packages to IDF personnel, and reignite hope in shattered communities.
