    Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem

    Raised in Gibraltar, the daughter of Sir Joshua Abraham Hassan, and a King's College London law graduate who made aliyah in 2001. Appointed Deputy Mayor after the 2018 elections, she holds tourism and foreign relations and is widely described as Jerusalem's de facto foreign minister. She has worked to build relations with Christians and to advocate for Jerusalem's marginalized residents — haredi, immigrant, Ethiopian and Arab.

Jerusalem was under attack and the city’s Deputy Mayor got on a call to Atlanta the next morning to say what was actually happening in it.

Fleur Hassan-Nahoum holds tourism and foreign relations for Jerusalem, which makes her the person the city sends out to explain itself. Americans United with Israel convened the conversation with AIC.
