A community-wide rally in midtown Atlanta days after the May 2021 ceasefire, called by AIC with more than forty Atlanta organizations, congregations and schools behind it.
Eleven days of rocket fire had just ended in a ceasefire. Atlanta gathered on Spring Street on the Sunday afternoon to say where it stood.
The ask was simple: bring Israeli and American flags, bring signs, bring your organization’s logo if you have one. Jewish Atlanta came out for it — and so did people who are not Jewish and came anyway.
More than forty organizations put their names to the rally. Every Atlanta congregation on the list, from Beth Jacob to The Temple. Every school, from Atlanta Jewish Academy to the Weber School. The Federation, the JCRC, the Rabbinical Association, AJC, the ADL, CUFI, JNF, the Institute for Black Solidarity with Israel, the Atlanta Jews of Color Council, Hadassah, B’nai B’rith, Conexx, ORT, the MJCCA, the Atlanta Jewish Times, Eternal Life Hemshech, the Hebrew Order of David.
That list is the reason the word coalition is in AIC’s name.
