The annual community Holocaust memorial at the Georgia State Capitol: reading aloud the names of victims, with their ages and where they died.

The names are read aloud, one after another, with each person’s age and the place they were killed.

B’nai B’rith lodges hold this ceremony across the country every year, and the point of it is narrow and exact: six million is a number, and a name is a person. Reading them back is how you return what was taken, and how you answer denial without arguing with it.

The community gathered at the Georgia State Capitol and on Zoom. Anyone could register to read.
