Captain (Res.) Yaakov Selavan, a Golan resident and former Armored Corps combat commander, briefed the community on Israel's security challenges from the ground he lives on.

A Golan resident and former Armored Corps combat commander with nearly a decade in the IDF, Selavan founded Slingshot Israel in 2016. He lectures in Israel and abroad on Israel's security challenges, military analysis and public diplomacy.
Selavan lives in the Golan and commanded armor there. He came to Chabad of North Fulton to walk an Atlanta audience through Israel’s northern security problem the way a field commander sees it — terrain first, then the people on the other side of it.
He is a founder of Slingshot Israel and an alumnus of the IDF’s Tactical Command College. Five dollars at the door.
