Before asking anyone to sign up for AIC’s first in-person tour of Israel, Cheryl Dorchinsky put the team on Zoom on a Sunday afternoon and took questions. David Sussman was there, the guide people already knew from AIC’s Re-Discovering the Land of Israel virtual tours, along with the tour operator, Israel Destination, which was handling the hotels and the planning. Lee Tanenbaum, AIC’s community coordinator, ran the Zoom. They kept it a Q&A webinar on purpose, to keep the Zoom bombers out.
The question Cheryl kept getting was COVID: if you come down with it at the last minute, do you lose your money? People also asked about travel insurance, what it takes to get back into the United States, and whether the food would be kosher. It would.
The tour ran that November, with an optional extension to Petra and Eilat. See the tour page.
