Holocaust Remembrance Day Vigil, with End Jew Hatred
A socially distanced vigil at the Besser Holocaust Memorial Garden on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, one of the End Jew Hatred vigils held that evening around the world.
On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, January 27, 2021, AIC and End Jew Hatred held a half-hour vigil at the Besser Holocaust Memorial Garden at the Marcus Jewish Community Center. It was socially distanced, masks on, rain or shine, and registration was required for security.
The UN General Assembly made January 27 International Holocaust Remembrance Day in 2005. It is the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. End Jew Hatred held vigils the same day in New York, Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Berlin, Toronto, and Israel, and Atlanta stood with them. The movement’s point that day was that a hashtag on social media has to be followed by action and unity.
