On Sunday night, January 12, 2025, Congregation Beth Jacob welcomed three women from the families of Israeli hostages, with AIC and Congregation Ohr HaTorah alongside. There was song and prayer, and at the center of it a conversation moderated by Rabbi Dr. Moshe Goldfeder.
Aviva Siegel had spent 51 days as a hostage in Gaza, and her husband Keith was still there. Yarden Gonen’s sister Romi was still being held. Maya Roman is a cousin of Yarden Roman, who had been freed, and of Carmel Gat, who was murdered in captivity.
The whole evening is on video. A short clip of Aviva, on something Keith asked of them while they were in Gaza, is on AIC’s YouTube channel.
