A day at the Georgia State Capitol meeting legislators to pass HB 30, which adopts the IHRA definition of antisemitism. The Israeli American Council organized it, and AIC was among the partners.

The Israeli American Council brought Georgians to the State Capitol to meet their legislators and push for HB 30, which adopts the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism. The case was simple: without a clear definition in law, Jews in Georgia lack the protection everyone else has against bigotry. A press conference ran from the south steps at 1 PM.

AIC was one of twenty organizations on the flyer, among them StandWithUs, the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, the JCRC of Atlanta, AJC, Hillels of Georgia, AJOCC, and ADL. It was AIC’s second Capitol Day for HB 30, after February 2023. At the end of January 2024, after years of effort, HB 30 became law.
