Two months into the war, Cheryl Dorchinsky hosted a webinar with two advocates who live this work.
Virag Gulyas is Hungarian, a former diplomat to the EU, and a Zionist who isn’t Jewish. She writes the blog The Almost Jewish, headed the JNF-USA speakers bureau at the time, and had been New York coordinator for End Jew Hatred. Ian Halperin is a bestselling author and filmmaker, and the son of a Holocaust survivor. His book on antisemitism today, BIGOT, came out a few days before October 7. His film Wish You Weren’t Here took on Roger Waters, and he’d been on an AIC panel about it in 2022.
The whole hour is on video. Two short clips of Gulyas are on AIC’s YouTube channel: why a proud Hungarian is a proud Zionist, and her three-second rule for arguing about Israel.
