Shamir, His Way is an award-winning documentary about Yitzhak Shamir: his early years in Poland, his family in Israel, his leadership of the Lehi underground, and his years as Prime Minister. Israeli politicians and generals who knew him testify about a man of few words.
The screening was also the night the World Zionist Organization presented its Zionist Legacy Award to Cheryl Dorchinsky, AIC’s founder. Nerya Meir, who heads the WZO’s Department of Zionist Activities in the Diaspora, made the presentation. Consul General Anat Sultan-Dadon brought greetings, and Yair Shamir, the late Prime Minister’s son, introduced the film by video.
Congregation Beth Jacob hosted, and admission was free.
