Tragic Awakening is a 55-minute documentary about the resurgence of antisemitism and religious bigotry since October 7. The film treats it as a test of everyone’s moral strength, and it makes the case that silence is how hatred like this grows.
After the film, Rawan Osman joined us for a conversation. She is a Syrian-Lebanese activist who works for peace with Israel, and she founded ArabsAsk.
AIC hosted the screening at Congregation Beth Jacob with the Consulate General of Israel to the Southeastern United States. The suggested contribution was $8, and students came free.
