Volunteer with AIC.

AIC runs on people who show up. If you have a few hours and want them to count for something, tell us what you can do and when you are free.

What this actually is

Twelve jobs. Two of them come first.

AIC is grassroots and all-volunteer. Nobody draws a salary, so the work happens because people take a piece of it. Some of the jobs below hang off something already on the calendar — an event, a delegation, a deadline. Two are standing relationships rather than one-off shifts: being AIC’s link to your own community, and keeping those links joined up.

Volunteering, answered

Who can volunteer with AIC?

Anyone who wants to help. AIC is a grassroots coalition, and its volunteers include synagogue, church, and civic partners from the communities we serve. Tell us what you can do and when you are free, and pick the role closest to how you would like to help.

How much time does it take?

As little as you have. Much of the work is event-based — an evening, a few times a season, counts — and some roles ask only a couple of hours a week.

What do volunteers actually do?

Twelve roles. Two we need most: AIC’s social media — the posts go out on a schedule now, so the work is replying to people and keeping a conversation going — and fundraising, meeting people in your own network and making the ask. Then volunteer coordination, which is remote and runs on email, plus two that build AIC’s coalition: a community liaison in every shul, Jewish organisation and faith group that stands with Israel — usually your own — and a coalition coordinator keeping those links joined up. The rest hang off events — tabling and reception, hosting and transporting visiting speakers, bringing an invitation to your own community, event photography, and mission logistics support. Israel Up Close and the book club are run in-house while they find their feet; we will look for help with those once they have a few months behind them.

Do I have to live in Atlanta?

Not for every role. Most of the hands-on work is at events in metro Atlanta, but five roles can be done from anywhere: social media, fundraising outreach, volunteer coordination, community liaison, and coalition coordinator. Tell us where you are and how you’d like to help, and we’ll find the right fit.

Is there an age limit?

You need to be 13 or older. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian needs to know you’re signing up, and the form asks you to confirm that.

Do I need experience?

No. Pick the role closest to how you want to help and describe it in your own words on the form. The more specific your answers, the better we can match you to the right event or project.
