Living an Empowered Life: From Phish Tour to the Second Lebanon War, with David Sussman
Israeli tour guide David Sussman told how a Phish fan living in his van became a combat soldier in the Second Lebanon War, and what it taught him.
Speaker
David Sussman
Licensed Israeli tour guide and motivational speaker
David Sussman grew up in Boston and spent years following the band Phish from festival to festival, living in his van. Then he moved to Israel, and his life changed. He served as a combat soldier in the IDF and came close to death more than once fighting in the Second Lebanon War in 2006. That is where he learned the lesson this evening was about.
Today he is one of Israel’s most popular guides, with his own segment on Israel Now News. AIC brought him to Congregation Beth Shalom in Dunwoody to tell the story. David also guided AIC’s Re-Discovering the Land of Israel tours, and in 2026 he led our live tour of the Nova festival site.
