Unto Every Person There Is a Name: Remembrance Ceremony 2022
The 2022 reading of Holocaust victims' names at the Georgia State Capitol and online, held by B'nai B'rith's Achim/Gate City Lodge and hosted that year by the Simon Wiesenthal Center.
Atlanta read the names again in 2022. The Achim/Gate City Lodge of B’nai B’rith International held the ceremony on Friday, April 29, at the Georgia State Capitol, with a virtual reading alongside it.
People read the names of Holocaust victims, where each one was murdered and how old they were, and they could add the names of their own family members. The in-person reading ran from 8 to 11 that morning in the Capitol’s South Wing, and the virtual reading carried on from 11 to 2. The Simon Wiesenthal Center hosted that year’s program, and with help from Dressler’s Jewish Funeral Care it live-streamed the whole thing.
AIC carried the ceremony on its own events page. The organizers’ listing doesn’t name AIC among them. See also 2020 and 2023.
